3 months after recovering from COVID I still can’t workout...

I had a moderate case of COVID, took about 4-5 weeks to recover and had some pretty bad respiratory symptoms.

I still cannot exert myself or workout, I get winded extremely easily and end up with a severe headache, sometimes getting tunnel vision and nearly blacking out. It seems as though my lungs are just not getting enough oxygen into my body.

I’m wondering if there’s effects that just won’t ever go away like this, or even potentially lead to other complications over time. Recovery isn’t so simple brahs.

Have you tried breathing exercises? They may seriously help you get oxygen into your lungs more effectively.

go get lung tests done

could just be mental as stupid as it sounds.

if they test your lungs (spirometer etc) then you'll know what the damage is

Yeah when I got COVID I was among the first ~50k or so reported cases. I also believe I had it again just a week or 2 ago but very mild. Almost identical symptoms to the first time but it didn’t progress past those initial first few days. I’m pretty convinced immunity only lasts a few months.

Hang in there dear, I'm so sorry you're still dealing with this. I know it doesn't take your frustration away but you aren't the only one. Did yours turn into pneumonia? My understanding is that it can take 6+ months for you to really start getting back to normal.

We know nothing about long term effects of this virus,
people saying “it’s just flu bro” should be the guinea pig to try vaccines on. Srs.

Who knows whether this virus has a dormant period, can mutate, etc?

lungs are able to regenerate quite well - even heavy smokers, after quitting, get a good deal of lung function back

perhaps try light swimming, it might help

You could have permanent damage. Mine took like 3-4 months to recover. During that time I felt out of breath with just going for a walk. Maybe yours will get better. I would see a doctor and see if you need a pulmonologist referral

Also I would buy an incentive spirometer and look up how to use it. It will help. Also take as deep of breathes as you can and hold them for a few seconds a few times an hr to prevent atelectasis

Covid can cause permanent damage, usually to your lungs. Get checked ASAP

u might have acute asthma. i had bronchitis and pneumonia and almost died as a kid, i had acute asthma for a year or more afterwards. had to use inhaler

Been 4 months for me, I was hospitalized with severe pneumonia from the Covid and have been having similar symptoms OP.

Just had a CT done on my lungs 3 days ago and they look great though. I do have a. Blood clot that appeared 3 weeks ago though that I’m currently taking thinners for that they believe is Covid related
