“Men don’t want to marry a women with debt. Most of this debt comes from college. They would also prefer a woman who still lives at her parent’s house that has not had other relationships. Do those two things and you will be highly sought after.” I’m not sure about men only preferring women who still live at their parent’s house and have had no other relationships since some young women have no choice but to live away from their families and some have had their hearts broken by men they thought was “the one.” I completely agree that most men don’t want to marry a woman with a load of debt! This isn’t right to bring into a marriage. Plus, the Bible tells us that the “borrower is the slave to the lender” (Proverbs 22:7). Who would willingly choose to be a slave?

I mean debt is up to you i understand if ur still paying off collage but you need to be able to financially take care of yourself i agree 100%. So pay your bills/debt payments/feed urself etc. Beyond that our $ surplus is a bonus but i take care of me, u take care of u, and ya beyond that it's litty titty

My boys wife hasnt worked in ~3 years and won't be working for at least ~1 more year i'm guessing (kids and based off how long she was out of work for first, and they recently had a second, ya). Other friends' wife was only off work for a few months and now she's already back and killing it. Meanwhile the low paying wife of the original friend doesnt even work. for many years.

Being in debt is a sign of extreme stupidity and poor impulse control. It doesn't make sense.

Zero debt and had everything handed to me in life crew.

New clothes every 5 years crew. Wear shoes til the soles break apart crew. Still using a computer from 2011 crew.

My excessive spending habits are on 2 things:

1) food (I only eat koala tea organic foods)
2) toilet paper because of the above and also because I am OCD

same. well technically ~75% of my house equity still needs to be paid off (aka mortgagecel) but i can sell my house at a moments notice it's in a fantastic neighborhood and value went up substantially since i got it, or have a property management company rent it out for me, for a profit, while rentcels pay it off and i continue to own. already looked into it through an established company i can legit after tax churn a decent enough profit.

I'll be honest, never understood people who rack up credit card debt.
I have one with a $500 limit for credit purposes and pay it off every month (I use it for groceries and that's it).

I feel like we don't teach kids early enough about what credit actually means.

I had to specifically search for it.
The original credit card offer was $1500 and I called them to see if they'd lower it.
Like, I'm decent with money but just don't want something random to happen and end up in debt.
