People Who Become Fat When in a Relationship = Does Not Respect Partner?

I see it a lot of times. Once people are together for quite some time, they gain weight, a lot more than they should. I get it, we get older, metabolism changes, priorities, or the usual excuse - life, kids. But no one is asking you to have a model body. At least try not too eat too much and try to spend an hour a day to exercise/run/or even go for a walk. But I still see many at late 20s going up becoming fat.

Being fit adds a lot to physical attraction. It is unfair for the other person if the other gets fat, especially if you two are not having an open-relationship and will only be ****ing one another for the rest of your lives.

So yes, is there a correlation to respecting your partner and becoming fat? Do fat people not care about their partner's sexual desire?

In b4 thyroid.

Usually linked to depression and the relationship exists only due to attachment/fear of abandonment.

People get complacement and comfortable in relationships, it's human nature. You don't need to look good to attract a mate anymore so you indulge a bit more, lose sight of being disciplined.

I'm a PT and when women are single they work out hard, as soon as they land a man they inevitably stop training - unless they were training for something more important than landing a man beforehand (ie athletics or something they want badly). Then they gain thirty pounds, and if they break up I know I'm going to get a phone call so they can try to look hot again.

Swingers tend to stay in shape because they want to attract OTHER PEOPLE, especially women. Weird when you think about it, but it's true.

On another note I tend to pick up weight in relationships.
The main reason is that my diet and routine is pretty structured when im single. Which all goes out of the window when I am dating. Struggle to find time for both training and relationship, and I have less control over food since I cant just eat what I want.
Athletics > Aesthetics
I guess its time to start training again.

It's disrespect to the partner and you shouldn't tolerate it and neither should the girl if her man gets fat. I'd dump a girl without a doubt if she got fat during our relationship and didn't wanna lose it. Why would I stay committed to a fat bitch i'm not attracted to? Seems like cuckery to me. No thanks Jeff

I see it happen to guys all the time, their woman just feeds them and they just lay around watching TV.

One guy I know got married and he gained like 30lbs in 4 months. I asked him WTF happened, and he goes, "She likes to feed me."

Cope.

Fat = overeating. You can stay slim and trim with 30 min of exercise 3x a week as long as you don't over indulge with eating every day.

Interesting. Any correlation between older = more consistent training?

Yeah, what was "living with other people"? If you are really on your own then you don't have to change up all the time to work around what someone else wants.

And women are also mostly the ones in a relationship who pick up more extra duties (housework, childcare, social planning).

Stuff happens. IMO most people move through cycles, meaning sometimes body weight isn't a high priority. If it gets to a point where it effects your health and quality of life and you don't make any effort to fix it then that is more about not having respect for yourself.

If your partner bloats up because of some temporary situation your best bet is to be kind and supportive (ask her to go on walks with you, maybe take over meal planning and make healthy food, let her talk about it or encourage her to spend time with good friends she can talk to). Try "we", as in "we should make our health a priority", instead of "you", as in "you better fix this, or else".

If it is dragging on a long time with no obvious cause then, yeah, depression/self-esteem. Running her down isn't likely to help. Better bet to insist she seek professional help.

Not saying you shouldn't have boundaries/expectations though.

And those sound amazing. I'm really fond of lemon desserts. And cheesecake.

Don't suppose you have that special pan that makes the muffins mostly tops? 'Cause the tops are the best.

Fitness and health in general is a personal thing not a couples thing. You control what you eat, you control how intensely and how long you workout, you control visits to the doctor and your medicines. To put all of that on who you are with is crazy because people break up all the time. This is the one area where whether male or female, you need to take care of self and the body which you inhabit.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Ugly-on-ugly sex should is a sin and should be illegal.

Yes, being a fat **** is ugly.

Not wrong here.

Spent most of my adult life married so different mind set mostly. I don't think of a BF/GF as a "partner" though I know that some LTRs are basically marriage without the paperwork.

Yes, your care and maintenance is on you. That doesn't mean that failing in that area is "disrespect for your partner". If anything it is disrespect for yourself.

Ideally you and your partner shore up each others weak spots and neglected bits when life gets harder.

I wouldn't care if my future wife gained weight because having a child is brutal on the body. I would however expect to hit the gym together, maybe go running once in a while, etc. I think I would care more about my wife living a longer life rather than just being in shape.

I think personally, I would want to lift so I look and feel better, but also give my partner some affirmation that I care about my body, and that she has some arm candy to hold on to, and maybe vice versa. Everyone's different, and everyone has different agendas.

I dated one chick who got comfortable in the relationship and ended up putting on 35 pounds. I didn't notice it, but she did and she blamed me for it. In the same time I lost the same amount of weight and looked good. She accused me of ruining her and then cheating on her which was not true. I then also dated a chick who was in shape, but never worked out a day in her life. She actually lost 10 pounds in a month from all the sex we were having. Then I introduced her to the gym and she ended up becoming super in shape and got into butt-building.

cheese, boxed wine, and netflix has ruined tens of thousands of relationships during corona

there is a VERY direct sliding correlation between

a - Weight gained by partner 1
b - Indifference towards relationship by partner 2

It happens slowly, and it builds resentment.

Same with sweets vs. crisps. Ice cream can sit in the freezer and develop a hard ice crust. Cakes can get stale and be tossed. Personally have had plenty of cheese go to waste.

no real food + grazing on crisps + sipping soda + reading/not moving = hello fat girl

Well, I guess if both partners pack on the pounds then they both disrespect each other...or love each other.

I've seen some bodybuilders, male and female, who are dedicated to their sport but their spouses don't share the same passion for fitness or exercise and yet they still stay together as long as the other partner is supporting of the other spouses' endevor.
