damn i missed it. I went out and got my last 6k steps at around 10-12 cst last night too. I occasionally catch a meteorite burning up int he atmosphere (aka shooting star) which is neat. Two nights ago, i saw one that had a blue-green tail which means the meteorite is rich with nickel (burns green) and magnesium (blue)

It's still there, I think 23rd is the closest approach. Use an app called Neowise on iPhone, it'll track it for you

Yeah I took it, ~8 sec exposure. Pretty faint from naked eye

It's a cannon EOS T7i, with a sigma lens. A miscer recommended the lens for photographing the aurora when I went up to Yukon

When it comes to most comets, you need to be in an area with low light pollution plus you need to give yourself at least 30 minutes to let your eyes adjust to low light. We are now in the middle of theSouthern Delta Aquaridsmeteor shower. Lasts until Aug 23 but peaks on July 29.Hereis a link to 2020's meteor showers (we are currently in 3 different meteor showers: Perseid, Aquarius and Capricorn. Which direction in the sky did you see it, and what time? Sucks going to bed at 10pm because there's still a dull glow from the sunset.

NW at the Big Dipper and slowly look below it
