Easy way to make your own adjustable kettlebell of any weight (and save $$)(pics)

With a chain, two carabiners, a handle and whatever you slide on the chain for weights.

Of all the equipment I have in my gym from various bars to cables, this is one of the most useful (and cheapest).

If you use a short handle, it operates and feels almost exactly like a kettlebell. My training partner and I loaded 65 pounds on it Wednesday night for 30 rep sets.

I should have specified that I'm talking about swings here.

You're not thinking outside the box though. I have a dozen handles I can use besides that one (such as a single hand grip). Any handle you can use for a cable machine, you can use with this.

It's extremely solid. My carabiner is rated at 700+ pounds and the chain is hundreds of pounds, too.

Why not just use the red kettlebell in the background? It's just swings....

1. As far as kettlebells, I have a 1x10, 1x20, 2x30, the red adjustable one in the background which I just got (which adjusts from 26 lb up to 70 lb).

2. 70 is not the maximum that I need for kettlebells, and I don't really want to buy an 80 for a couple of hundred dollars, and a 90 for a couple of hundred dollars, and a 100 for a couple of hundred dollars, etc. That's the beauty of having one that's adjustable like this one. I can go up until it breaks.

Which is cool, but most people don't have a full dumbbell set in their garage, and almost no one has 100+ lb dumbbells in their garage. But almost everyone with an actual garage gym has plates. That's what makes the OP contraption so useful.

For sure. Your idea looks real good and can endure heavy loads. Being creative can save you a lot of money sometimes.
The thing i posted is just in case someone has those adjustable dumbbells and are a fan of kettlebells. No idea how much that thing will hold though.

They also make these, which are probably great. But stiff. I like the way mine hangs naturally from a chain.

And of course they are perpetually out of stock.

What movements are you doing that require a 100lb kettlebell? I'm genuinely curious.
Your schtick sucks and it screams insecurity.

Primarily swings. But also some high rep SLDL at the end of a squat or deadlift workout.

We’ll use more than 100 pounds.

Solid ingenuity but I can’t picture how a proper kettlebell swing can be done with that set up. Also 70 lbs is plenty for swings especially if you utilize an EMOM scheme and performed as one arm swings, alternating side after each set

I’m a powerlifter, not a kettlebell lifter.

There is no “plenty.”

And the setup is perfect for swings.
