The prosecutor said: "She put water on her face to make herself look upset before making the allegation of rape, saying she had encountered him in the toilets.

"She told the police he pulled her tights down."

Ward falsely described how he forced her to have sex against her will, adding: "He wouldn't take no for an answer."

The officers inspected CCTV footage at the premises, which proved her allegation was false.



Sentencing, Judge Dean said: "The fact is you're doing yourself harm by making false reports because, God forbid, if anything did happen to you it might not be believed because you've told lies in the past.

"If you do it again you will be going to prison.

"It's true that what you did arises largely from your own vulnerabilities and difficulties, but not entirely, and I think you know it and you knew it was wrong."
