Florida Gulf Coast Brahs How Is It Now?

Was supposed to be in the Ft Myers area next weekend but am currently reconsidering. It looks like most of the covid issues are in Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach. Looking at the numbers the surrounding counties near Ft Myers have less cases than mine. Don't really care about anything other than laying on the beach for a few days and doing some outdoor exercise anyway. No bars, indoor dining, etc. Worst I'll probably do is hit up a CVS or something for water and all that. Are the beaches packed specifically Marco Island, Naples, and Sanibel? One of the days will be a Saturday so I assume that will be busy but the rest I can't see it being too hard to stay away from people. Of course all travel forums are full of people saying no don't come to anyone who asks but unless I'm mistaken parts of the state aren't too bad.

whats the point in visiting if your just gonna hide away in your hotel 75% of the time?

expect it to rain 4:30-7pm every night.

places you listed tends to be more old people/retirees

Personally Id recommend something more north like siesta key/clear water area if you want gulf beaches

I'll be out most of the day. Wouldn't make sense to go and sit in my hotel as you said. I'll take a look into Clearwater as well.
