Are You Guys Sure SPARTACUS is a Great Series?
Just started and finished S1 E2. The effects are like a cheap version of 300. I understand it is a series but even so. The acting is decent at best. Glad to see the bro from the Mummy Trilogy there though.
Also, too many penors in the first 2 episodes. Moreso than boobs.

I watched the show on Netflix about two years ago. I thought it was really good. You can definitely see how they had to stretch their budget. Not really a spoiler, but the guy who played Spartacus in season 1 died in real life after airing. I thought the new actor was not as good as the first dude. What makes up for it though is the other actors and actresses stepping up their performances.

i thought the same thing when i watched it before. in fact, i turned it off cause i saw the cheap effects and thought it would be bad. the next time i tried i just continued through. it's a good show but has a dramatic drop off at some point. i think after season 2

The first season was a great season. It is not a great series.

You need to give S1 3-4 episodes and S3 5-6. As long as you stick through those, the rest of the show was something I couldn't put down.
The show starts off slow and the main actor dies in real life so it takes some time to get used to the new guy in S3. He really comes into his own, as does the show, after those episodes.

The prequel miniseries and the first season are great. Don’t go in expecting something like the early seasons of GoT, it’s not trying to be a prestige epic. I didn’t continue with season two onwards cuz the main actor died irl.

Prequel and S1 are great. S2 and S3 are alright. The actor who took over for Andy did good, but he's not great. And the actress that replaced Lesley as Naevia is fukkin horrible. Was happy to see her in Lucifer though, hnngggh.

I loved it and think its a great show but I agree the first couple episodes were rough.
If my buddy hadn't advised me of that and told me to stick it out I probably would have given up as well.
The dialogue is some of my all time favorite.

I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...
