Dunkirk was a really well shot film. The directing was fine. The script just fuking sucked. They didn't have a very great plot. That's what killed the movie. Saving Private Ryan was a great movie because it also had a really cool little script that helped develop characters. There was another war movie, Hacksaw Ridge, that I thought was really good because it had a strong script. You have to have a damn storyline and character development in a movie. Otherwise nobody gives a chit.
