would you be better off with a modern striker fired polymer pistol that shoots a common cartridge or a revolver

Glock 17, 19, or 26 would be best
But a Ruger GP100 would probably be alright if it's all you had
It really depends on if you can stave off death long enough to kill somebody else and take their better weapon
Hopefully a rifle or shotgun
