When did we go from “flatten the curve” to “stop the spread”?

At the onset of all these lockdowns the government was saying we must “flatten the curve” so we must be locked down in order to prevent the hospitals from getting overwhelmed. This would supposedly give them enough time to stock up on supplies to treat the supposed massive infected people. Well the hospital systems were never overwhelmed.

So now the government is saying that we now must be locked down to “stop the spread.” When did this slogan change occur? Why are we now trying to “stop the spread” instead “flatten the curve”?

Yeah I thought we already "flattened the curve" months ago. I guess now we're in the "keep it flat forever" stage
