Let's talk Neanderthals

Physicality:

Neanderthals were much stronger. While Homo Sapiens was utilizing a technique called persistent hunting(where you wear the animal down), Neanderthals were sprinters instead and were hunting with melee weapons. Pathology suggests they were fighting bears, wolves, mammoths and whatever the hell Eurasia had to offer.

Intelligence:

Big one. In order for two mammals to produce fertile offspring they need to be really really closely related. There is evidence that neans and sapiens mixed together. So do we really need to debate wether they were capable of cognition or speech? If anything I will argue that THEY were the more intelligent humans. Take the following into account:

Neanderthals were absorbed by Homo Sapiens 40-50,000 years ago. The “Great leap forward” occured at the same time. Coincidence? Maybe
Neanderthals had bigger cranial capacity. Amud 1 had a brain capacity of almost 1800 cm^3 which the largest ever found in a human so far. Modern humans have an average of 1300cm^3. Coincidence? OK
Populations that have a higher percentage of Neanderthal DNA score higher on IQ tests. Three coincidences are called a tendency.

There is also archeological evidence that they were seafarers, with their traces present on many Mediterranean islands.

Society:

Hunting related injuries were found both among males and females. There was likely no division of labour, so for all you *******s out there - Neanderthal society was egalitarian.

Pathology, DNA, paleoanthropology and archeology all suggest Neanderthals weren't buffoons as depicted in pop culture.

In conclusion - if you read all this, you should definitely get a life. I know I should

/thread

humans beat neanderthals because the neanderthals had it on easy mode.

there's a reason the neanderthal Y-chromosome didn't make it
Einstein's brain weighed only 1,230 grams, which is less than the average adult male brain (about 1,400 grams)

Manlet is hard to argue, but they were mainly beat because Homo Sapien arrived in Eurasia in huge numbers, while Neanderthals lived in small communities. They weren't outcompeted, they were vastly outnumbered
