Just found out my dad has COVID who is 65.

Im pretty much having a mental break down right now. Just received a text that my dad has tested positive for covid. He already has a scratchy throat and some congestion. I have been under insane amount of stress lately to the point where I can barely function normal and how this was thrown on me just now. Could use some prayers right now please.

Yo brother you're in my thoughts. Take a deep breath, I'm sure it's a terrifying situation but the lethality rate among 65 year olds is very low, it is far from a death sentence. I'm sure he's going to be fine. Consider finding a doctor who will treat him with Hydroxychloroquine, as it's been shown in several studies now to be an extremely effective treatment for Covid. (Please nobody respond to that with your political opinions for the sake of OP, let's set all that chit aside ITT)

As long as he doesn't have major health issue prior or comorbidity, he has nothing to worry about.

My mother who is 61 and previously had cancer and heart problems recovered just fine.. She mostly complained about being extremely tired for a couple of days.. had some minor other symptoms but that was it

If your father is somewhat healty he will probably recover just fine.. yes, covid can be very dangerous to some people.. but most is just media hysteria

he is healthy, goes in for all check ups when needed. Heart is good, cholesterol is good, blood work always comes back good. But he does need to lose weight. But when he goes in for all the check ups, they are always good.

My dad had covid months ago and was totally fine. He was down for about a week not feeling great, but nothing serious

make sure he monitors himself, his fever and ability to breath. Get him an oximeter.

The results took 3 days to get back. I am hoping u are right and its mild. He lives in Texas, I live in Virginia and I obviously cant see him right now. And it sucks.

That is good news. What was his age if u dont mind me asking? I lost my grandma recently to this a month ago.

Hope he makes it brah. My 60 y/o uncle got the 'rona and he spent two weeks very sick, but eventually recovered. Thank **** he had recently slimmed down, he was obese for most of his adult life but straightened himself out a few years ago. Probably would be a statistic right now if he hadn't improved his health.

Lost my 61 year old fairly decent shape father in law to this back in april. Not saying this to scare you but all the people blowing it off dont realize the disease is a crap shoot for different people.
