Cool/attractive
Or annoying?
I never thought about it. But like I think English accents and Aussie are awesome.
We do have many types of accents like southern, Boston, New York, west coast, mid western and Cajun

Gotta say though that accent story is bull, West Country accents, cockney accents, Yorkshire accents. Scottish and Welsh accents have been here long before the republic!
Also the posh English accent was used by the ruling class to distance themselves from the commoners of England nothing to do with America
P.s American accents are brilliant, big fan of any New York,Boston,New Jersey accent but also like any American accent that has a personality to it, southern etc

It's weird thinking I have an accent, but then I'll go to california and hear the weirdest accents, and they'll say I have a weird accent (chicago brah).
US has a ton of accents.
Even as a US brah I am fascinated by the North dakota/north minnesota accent. Have family that lives in north minnesota near north dakota, and even though I haven't seen them in a decade, I always loved that accent.

Personally while American English (in general) is the most familiar one and the easiest to understand, often I found myself attracted by Sean Connery's luring accent and voice.
Especially, relatively new films like Highlander, The Rock, The Untouchables, The hunt for Red October, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and so on.

Some British accents are really gross, the more posh speaking parts I kinda like. But generally speaking I prefer the American accents the most. Yeeee-ha
