For non-degenerate countries without a 7 digit active case count, international travel has already been returning to normal. I'd say by next summer it will be just as it was last year.

It simply means it wont be back to pre-covid numbers(cuz people scared and borders are not totally open to every country). Does not mean you are not allowed to travel.

Some borders are opening now. But I think things will be back sooner. See how people are out and about, soon same will happen to traveling.

Maybe for Australia and NZ, they've gone full retard.

Australia not even letting their citizens leave, NK would be proud.

Europe is pretty open now, Asia will probably open to Europeans early next year, they're gonna need the western tourists.

Not sure what's going on with US/Canada.

But yeah as for "return to normal" ie full scheduling and load factors I could see it taking that long to get back to 2019 levels. Fuking sucks as a travelcel.

Also means I'm probably going to be too old to do a WHV in Australia.

I'd say it's likely travel numbers won't return to normal (2019 levels) until around 2023, but not that current travel restrictions will remain in place until then

It's not normal though.

Usually as a tier 1 passport holder you could just book a last minute flight to pretty much wherever you want, there's now a bunch of additional restrictions/requirements even for travelling within the famously open EU.
