Dumb question

Elon is trying to colonize Mars right? Why not the moon? Wouldn’t that be easier/closer?

I assume it's because it's small AF. But I could be wrong. I mean, didn't they actually find water and other life forms on the moon too couple years back? Fuarkkk

Could it be because humans have never actually been there? Just seems like setting something up there as a test run would make sense.

The moon will have a much shorter life span than Mars. When the sun starts into it's phase of higher luminocity and expansion, Mars will warm up to inhabitable temps whereas earth will become too hot.

Since the point is to keep the human race going, makes more sense.

Makes sense super long term I guess. Always thought the idea was if super volcano or nukes killed the earth.

You can't breathe on Mars but the atmosphere will keep the temperature at a reasonable range.



It's not like the phucking moon where the range is so broad because there is no atmosphere to buffer against or keep sunlight.
