fuk Xfinity / Comcast

this company has by far the WORST service of anything I've ever paid for. You straight up cannot get connected to a human being on their customer service line UNLESS you're a new customer trying to sign up for a service. Any other option will have you listen to a recording or you'll be directed to their website.

on top of that, they increased the price of internet, 99.99 for JUST internet (not cable package). Kinda ridiculous.

I didn't have a single issue with Comcast until I started bragging to my friends about said fact lol.

Wish I could get fiber.

pay for internet access, or pay for an IT contractor. Many people think they get both when they pay Comcast. With so many people working and learning from home I could imagine a bunch of tech illiterate people calling comcast because their email won't load or their printer won't print.

Real jelly, I pay $75 for 4mg

Verizon is probably worse, they try around a 1k scam on equipment return. I’ll never use Verizon again, even if it means not having service

No chit OP they're like the most universally reviled company on earth.

But for real their customer service seems centered around stalling and deflecting. I'm tech savvy enough that I have legit answers and have tried "everything else" before I call them, always get escalated to someone who knows what they're talking about. Can't imagine being tech-illiterate and trying to get help from them. They will just run you around.

People like to bash Comcast and their customer service does suck. The company I work for has 5-10k internet circuits in the US for our at home work population. One of the groups that I manage is the Network group that maintains the circuits and VPN environments for our at home work population. We track all of our provider outages and Comcast has been by FAR the best US provider for up time, reliability and quality of service.

So customer service sucks but the product is typically top notch (with the exception of a few areas they acquired a company/network and havent yet updated them)...

one rep from Comcast came to my house and offered me a year free of internet and DVR if I switched over
I told him how chitty their cust svc was and he proceeded to tell me how they spent millions converting and making it better
ok, I'll switch
he called them and they said I would have to pay $12 from about 6 years ago before I could switch over
I told the rep to get the fuk out of my house

Just had to call them to re-up my plan and get a new discount for the year. Took roughly 5 minutes through their stupid ****ing menu, but I did get right through to someone who helped me easily and quickly. He wasn't even an annoying dink like usual, either, so win/win.

Never had any issues personally, except when I had to replace equipment and they kept sending me inferior crap.

Heres a tip OP:

Call them and scare them that you will cancel and go to another provider for a better deal. Or tell them your having monetary hardship.

That feel when you switched from At and T to Comcast Xfinity 6 months ago. Haven't had any issues yet though I'm pretty tech savvy so only been minor issues. I will say at least in my area the comcast speeds are way faster than when I had AT and T.
