Blows my mind how competitive / sweaty video games have become

I've always known there's SOME competitive edge in video games, but the last few years it has gotten progressively WORSE.

Ever since the streamer "Ninja" started making money from playing, now every damn player under the age of 15 or 20 wants to become a streamer.

It's actually annoying how common this is, even watching them play it's a constant stressful / sweat filled situation -- WHY would you want to play like that?

Remember how video games were an escape at one point? You know, like actually fun? Now this **** of having to drink G Fuel, get a $300 gaming chair and a "device" for aim assist and all...

Just what the phuck happened to video games man?

They removed anything competitive from the average teen life cause its no "nice" so teens had to create a new way to compete within those strict bounds.

i mean.. they have their niche. unless they force you to online, then you don't have to play that way

i just cringe when they use it to replace real life

like a streamer who plays sports game who actually sucks at the sport in real life

I was a competitive player back when I played call of duty growing up. But now every 12-15 year old is on G-fuel and addy, and there's just no reason to try and keep up with that. lol now I don't play any video games. Might get a new system when some awesome single player games come out.

Was a Hardcore Halo 1/2 player back in the day. Now I just play single player games outside of World of Warcraft (pve).

Never been much of a fan of the competitive scene. Tends to attract the degenerates of society.

if i had kids right now i'd still tell them to go do that chit. these kids are fukkeedd if anything ever happens to those platforms. they may have a few skills like video editing, but largely won't

i wouldn't say don't aspire to be a "streamer" but only after you develop skills to fall back on should anything go wrong

The games I play are not sweaty and but are multiplayer. They are usually co-op or cat and mouse type games. But don't take the competitive side too seriously unless you are abnormally good, or you will eventually develop carpal tunnel.
