Maybe secret agents read newspapers differently

Than normal folk because they knew that every part of the newspaper was always pushing an agenda, pushing propaganda, or just brainwashing

So when people in the CIA read newspapers and pick up those secret clues like in movies "some clever riddle here that doesn't fit what ur reading" they noticed it because they weren't reading the newspaper like regular people

They were reading it like "oh bullchit, bullchit, bullchit, wait what's this" whereas normal people would have done it the other way around, or something

Doesn't it make sense though that the CIA would tell it's agents in training "oh btw ignore everything you see in the news it's all propaganda. And don't question why or investigate it we'll fire you"
