Raised by Wolves—-Ridley Scott aware

No spoilers

Is anyone else here watching this? It’s on HBO Max but I watched it on firestick. It’s not for everyone, If you don’t like sci-fi you won’t like this. I had never heard of it until I ran across it this morning when I couldn’t go back to sleep. Watched the first 3 episodes and wow, I found it to be really entertaining so far. It def has that Ridley Scott feel to it, he only directed the first 2 episodes I believe but is an executive producer for the whole show.

I won’t give any spoilers but it stars Travis Fimmel who played in Vikings as Ragnar Lothbrok. Starts a little slow but picks up and gets interesting really quick imo. If you enjoy that kind of stuff then I highly recommend giving it a shot. Here’s the trailer

Looks pretty cool and I will definitely check it out but I don’t do this weekly release bs in 2020. Will wait until I can binge.
I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

Watched it last night. Really weird.

I absolutely disagree with the Ridley Scott feel. I didn’t knew he was the director until after I saw his name in the credits after the first episode. I was taken aback by it, as it does not resemble any of his other work that I am familiar with. However, his name is not in the credits after the second and third episodes which I thought was weird.

I didn’t like it as much as you did. I mean, I did watch all three episodes, so something had my attention.

Imagine being a space fairing species and still having wars over religion. That isn’t something I ever thought of when thinking about the future of humanity.

And Ragnar is Ragnar. He is clearly a personality actor. Which is okay. Just an observation.

You don’t see any Ridley Scott I’m this really? Hmm. The whole android vibe is big with him.

As far as them still fighting over religious beliefs, I can’t imagine a world that will never have that. So yea I guess we are def on opposite ends of that spectrum. Have you seen Brave New World?

I haven’t heard of it. I just looked it up and looks interesting. It says it is only available on Peacock? Do you use the fire stick for it.

Just watched first episode and it seems far fetched that androids have this much technology and knowledge but can't treat simple illnesses to keep people alive.

So they were programmed with enough knowledge to space travel, create test tube babies, cultivate crops, change into a hologram, kill through sound, but not to treat a common cold?

You’d have to keep watching. I don’t want to give any spoilers. That answers itself further in though

Was about to post that I need to get in season 2 of the Boys before I watch anything else.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
