How is it every miscer makes over six figures and has an IQ of 150?

six figures isnt that hard to achieve. and ive never seen anyone brag about their IQ on here

no one is gonna brag about not making 6 figures, but miscers who do, will. thats why it seems like a lot do.

MISCers are generally hard workers and are willing to sacrifice social life for financial gains. $150,000 is an amount that can be achieved by hard work, and isn't some crazy figure that requires undue risk or luck.

Because posts asking about income is likely to attract high income miscers. 6 figs is good, but it's not CRAZY good. About 20% of americans in their peak earning years (50's) make 6 figs.

About 14% of americans overall make 6 figs.

I'm nothing special but picked a decent major. One job hop and 3-4 more years of experience and I'm at 6 figs.

What's really interesting is when you look at income percentile by age. Also income percentile by sex and age. Men make about 50% more than women no matter the age.

I like to compare myself to other males in my age range. That seems to be the most accurate way to measure "where you are at".

i've been about as open as one can be that i make peasant change now. significantly less than 100k. much less than half, not including basic more secure/safe investments (S&P 500 basically)


i'd kill for a remotely secure 100k/yr rn. but i also am lazy and have earned the right to not do a job unless it's something i really am passionate about which is very few things all of which so far seems like thngs i am not qualified for

6 figures, on the books, is not a lot in some places. In NYC, you’ll find people making that much and getting squeezed for taxes, while people with unreported income get rent controlled housing and other benefits. Gaming the system is taught to kids in those areas by their parents, I’ve seen it first hand. Brb pay 3k a month for an apartment while your neighbor pays $600. Anyway, COL, taxes, reported Vs unreported, and other factors all play a part.
