Honestly I think machines are underrated
Many years ago when I read about lifting on these forums or /fit it was always "lol at machines" and you have to do free weights, squats, deads, bench, ohp and dumbell work.
Recently I've been experimenting with machines more and I'm kinda liking them.
I feel like they offer a lower chance of injury, don't have to worry about failing a rep.
For example when I do seated dumbell presses my shoulder joint always feels all kinds of phucked up.
Doing a similar motion on a machine no problems...

Agreed, I still do free weights but as I'm getting older I start to use more machines

I like cables for constant tension. Great for low weight requirements such as lateral raises, rear raises and face pulls.

There’s so many machines that done really have a free weight equivalent. Or the free weight version is much less efficient.
Just lol at doing free weight hack squats.
