Why do people like scary stuff?

Why do people like watching scary movies and ghost stories and doing stuff like ghost hunting or spending the night locked in haunted buildings? I was just watching this guy's periscope video where he was talking about his house and shadow people bothering him making noises and there was a fukin dead body laying on his bed behind him while he was walking around and when people in the chat were telling him to go back in the room it was gone and he thought the chat was messing with him. Now I cant sleep **** freaked me out.

I worked at a huge state park and was mopping the campground bathroom/ showers and walking backwards while mopping and a shadow thing ran by from behind me and went through the wall. I dropped the mop and ran the fuk out of there and told my coworker in the van I'm not going back in there and he laughed and said it was probably a lizard or a bird. I was like bro it was a fukin shadow person and he said he always wanted to see one of them. Wtf? I wish it never happened and the guy wished he saw it? Why do people like scary stuff?

I also stay away from scary things. Maybe it is genetic. The scared animals live longer because they stay away from danger. The brave animals live longer as they can handle predatory pressure.
