Bodybuilding.com, which has struggled amid competition from Amazon and others, plans more layoffs in October at its Northwest Boise headquarters.

The fitness-oriented nutritional supplement company filed notice Aug. 19 that it would lay off 76 workers, ranging from a senior vice president to 13 customer service representatives, on Oct. 20. It is at least the second round of layoffs this year. An unknown number of people lost their jobs in January.

The company declined to discuss the layoffs. It appears they represent at least one-third of the remaining staff based in the headquarters Bodybuilding.com opened seven years ago at 5777 N. Meeker Ave., near Cloverdale Road and Chinden Boulevard. Federal law requires that a company with 50 to 499 workers notify the state Department of Labor 60 days in advance if it lays off more than one-third of all employees working at least 20 hours a week.

Bodybuilding.com employed an estimated 800 people in 2015, including 600 at its headquarters. Available information suggests that it will have fewer than 200 people still based there after October’s layoffs. Many employees are working at home because of the coronavirus pandemic.

I for one am absolutely flabbergasted that this site had 800 employees LMAO.

I honestly would have guessed 5-10, serious. It's funny how much traffic this place had once because of the misc and just the site name.. I am ready for it to go down and for my post history to be purged from the internet. Said too much dumb chit on here over the years.

The biggest mistake they made was a some years back, maybe more when they said they would stop selling BOGO’s as they felt resellers were buying. When they eventually started again, it was ly and kind of late.

I used to buy every month like clockwork because of bogo free pre workouts and whey.

bruh i looked on glassdoor the other day when someone mentioned it. I saw they hired a full time audio technician in 2017, like you know recording sound, setting up mics, editing sound ect. Do they even make videos that much? how the fuk could they need a full time audio guy. You can contract people out to make videos for you. They wonder why they had no money

BB.com was always overpriced. Eventually stopped getting anything at all from here because there was always someone else cheaper, often significantly. Not Amazon either. I don't recall being hyped for any bogo deals either so must have been too little too late.
