Imagine Elon Musk talking like this to Joe Rogan (Warning: HighIQcels only)

Cliffs: No wonder he paused so much when he was on JRE, he probably thought he was talking to a houseplant and didn't know how to converse.

He is a very smart guy, but this video isn't the reason. He's literally just talking about undergrad level physics in the context of launching rockets. He's just talking to people with 0 knowledge in the subject matter.

It's basically just centipedal/centrifugal forces.

Literally all he's talking about is the escape velocity, which is the minimum velocity where the kinetic energy of the rocket > the potential energy of earth.

Not putting Musk down, but the uploader might be a huge fan

I was thinking not that it isn't understandable (it is like you said to somewith with a basic grasp of physics) ...however talking like that to Joe Rogan would cause him to rush home, smoke the strongest weed and go into his floatation tank.

Without watching most of this, the round-about way of explaining things is kind of odd and confusing. Err...he’s bringing up escape velocity with regard to the ISS.. what?

Nothing against Musk, but I’d rather listen to an interview with a scientist (for example a PhD trained physicist) talking about science and orbital mechanics, not this sort of thing.

Also, lol’d at IQ..

Joe Rogan: wow, that's crazy man. have you tried some mushrooms?
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit softly.

he's a billionaire entrepreneur who happens to have a space company as one of his endeavors, he's explaining things at a level that a business man with a space company would

just lol at any of this being high IQ

Really brilliant people aren’t great at communicating the ideas in their field to non-peers. In order to be brilliant in a field you have to have a ton of knowledge and nuance chunked so that you can work through hard purely conceptual ideas/designs faster.

When they’re communicating to an audience they are self aware enough to know they need to unravel those chunks to get to the core ideas behind why something works, but in a conversation that typically comes off in a very scattered description. They are also trying to gauge the level of answer they should give which interrupts the answer

Takes a special person to be able to form those chunks in the first place (at a subject matter expert level) and an even more rare person to unravel them for an audience just as quickly

Usually it’s solved by taking a really smart person that can get the jist of what they’re trying to say (but usually doesn’t or can’t bother themselves with the very technical nuances) and having them run communications.

This post triggered me. One of the hardest classes I've taken was astrodynamics "orbital mechanics." Guess I'm low intelligence.
