- Videos on twitter of bodies laying on the streets and apocalyptic scenes & spreading fake news were from fake accounts on twitter they later took down (NYT article cited)
- CCP targeted Italy with fake news because the world followed their lead
- UK originally opted for Sweden approach but was targeted by fake news likening his response to "genocide"
- FBI says politicians have been sponsored by CCP to pump the fake news @ federal & state level.
- In the US, leading science and medical research institutions including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and Harvard University have been rocked by revelations of undisclosed financial ties to the Chinese government.

Cases don't equal deaths since now everyone who has been in contact with someone showing symptoms is being tested. 0-29 year olds are likely the majority of the new cases & they/we are least likely to die or even be hospitalized.

People said the same at the start of the 2nd wave in the US, 200K dead and counting now, the deaths will come it's inevitable once the young start infecting the older population, it's already started in the UK as deaths have started to rise recently.

That is ofc true, but if there is enough cases it will spread to other parts of the population as well.
Hard to say whats the right response is, in retrospect you could probably say if they had gone balls to the walls with isolations we could have killed the virus off in a few weeks, by going for half cocked measures we are putting much more strain on the economy/freedom.

Many miscers have complained about the restrictions that has been imposed and are pointing to how few deaths there has actually been, but with exponential growth how would we have fared without them 10x cases, 100x cases?

Unaware, last I checked this rise was from 6, to 40.

Even though that's a >600% rise, the lockdown was initially released when there were more daily deaths.

The ideal scenario in reality would be lockdown the elderly & vulnerable & allow them to only intermingle with others in lockdown with no exposure to the rest of the population.

But the UK PM outright said they wouldn't subject the elderly & vulnerable to those conditions, imo, because they vote, pay taxes & are political contributors. UK recently said no to releasing the "triple lock" which would have made paying back the Corona bill easier but instead we will all likely face higher taxes for a decade if not, forever.

Don't really see it happening, they have a lot of blame in this, but the total lack of a responsible response from many western governments even after knowledge of the virus was available can't be blamed on them.
