Have you ever had a vehicle stolen?

One of my renters bought a truck from his brother about 2 weeks ago. An F250 with a diesel engine. Great for towing. It was sitting in his driveway in Houston, while he was in one of my houses in Kansas. The brother called him at 5:30 in the morning and was busting out laughing. He said "Your new truck was stolen at 4:45 this morning. The police recovered it at 5:10. The people that stole it had a tow strap wrapped around an ATM machine and the police caught them trying to rip the ATM out of the ground. They have your truck impounded while they dust it for everyone's finger prints because 2 of the 4 suspects got away."

Nope but I had my stereo stolen twice when I lived in Chicago, they took my golf clubs and smoked a cigarette in my car the second time.

'Cause somebody stole my car radio and now I just sit in silence

Yep , I have had 3 vehicles stolen... in Houston! You either just flat out have to not give a fk if it gets stolen or go overboard on preventative measures to deter a piece of $hit thief...

Personally I choose the later because one... fk him.. and two... I like a challenge! So far I am going on a decade with 4 failed attempts

Haha yes. Had a Honda Civic a while back and that mfker got stolen twice. I live in a shady area so it’s expected but the fker who stole my car even harness his crackhead energy to bend my steering lock too. I don’t know what supplements he took to be able to bend a 1 inch thick piece of metal rod but I want in.

Yep, long story short, the thieves lived a few blocks away from my house. Idiots thought I couldn't recognize my car without the correct tag number. Saw them driving down the street, followed them and called the cops. They had the audacity to replace my air freshners with their own and hung a bunch of other decorations as well.

Was mad but in hindsight, it's funny how stupid people can be.

It's very hard to steal a car with an immobilizer unless you have the key. I'm not sure about other makes but most newer German cars have them.

All 3 vehicles that were stolen were full size trucks.. GMC SCSB , Dodge 2500 , Chevrolet 1500 Crew Cab. The 4 failed attempts have been on 2 different vehicles which was my current F150 & the Yukon Denali the wife daily's.

Houston is Takuache Cuh territory..

All of my vehicles have kill switches , GPS tracking , & 2 different size locking lugs

Also every bit of this BS happened while at work IN Houston or while we were out partying IN Houston. Not saying this $hit doesnt happen up in my little piece of heaven in the burbs but ive never had an issue in all the years living there.

My girlfriends car.

I had a spare key for her car in my car. Someone broke onto my car and took the key and her car which was right next to mine. It gave me an opportunity to practice conflict resolution/stand up for myself.(one of the neighbors told me who it was and even though I couldn’t prove it, I still went to talk to him 1v1). I am grateful for that opportunity.

About a week later the cops arrested the guys friend and he had the key in his pocket. They found it and it was returned no issues.

The smoked inside it though. Which is trashy af.

yeah, was stolen and recovered a week or two later a few towns over

seems like it was a tweaker cause he had spray painted one of the fenders and the a-pillar and it was full of stolen tools and other stuff, he was using a spoon carved into a key shape to start it

guess he parked it in some residential area with a car cover on it and someone called the cops, dunno what happened from there cause the 2 police departments involved didn't seem to want anything to do with it once they called me to pick it up

it's got liability and a hidden GPS now cause i'd never get the aftermarket parts cost back from insurance. i'll just steal it back myself if it ever gets taken again
