Cigars were a status symbol in the past, and this was built up by their portrayal in movies (e.g. Sopranos) but that's all fading - few people smoke now, and cigars are going the way of the dodo bird

High end cigars are nice. Whenever I smoke one it makes me feel chilled and relaxed. Too bad Cubans are banned in the US now as of recent.

The vast majority of the cigars I bought were white owls and swisher sweets and I sure as chit wasn't smoking them like they came from the factory lol. I tried smoking some expensive ones down in NO one time back when I smoked cigs but just couldn't get into it

i have a cigar review blog, work in a cigar shop at night and have smoked cigars since i was 16.
the appeal of them is that they are very sociable and flavorful. it's just a good way to relax. i get a lot of nuanced taste and complexity from the cigars i smoke, and expensive ones just taste great and are very smooth. it's a nice way to hang out with people, celebrate, or just unwind after a long day.
overall though, it's a vice for me. i don't drink, but i smoke like a chimney. just what i look forward to after stress of work.

I smoke cigars occasionally and also a pipe. It isnt an everyday thing. Usually something special on a weekend or nice evening. I keep a fair stock of both on hand.
To me its a meditation. Watching the bluish smoke curl, finding the notes of flavors within the tobacco, focusing on breathing.
Its not for everyone, and it takes some time to find your groove.

They smell good and feel good.

never taken a single drag on a cigarette but i love cigars srs
you gotta make sure they're mild if you have no nicotine tolerance or they'll fuark you up
nicaraguan tobacco tends to be higher in nicotine for some reason
you'll know right away because they create like a spicy feeling on the back of your tongue nh

I've smoked cigars for about 10 years. Not even that much, maybe 2-3x a month just because I don't have a lot of free time.
Cigars are fantastic, they pair really nicely with a nice coffee or a scotch which was aged a long time in oak barrels.
The flavors are really nice, they smell fantastic, it's a great social thing to have a stogie with a friend and shoot the breeze in a nice classy room dark leather chairs / nice wood furniture etc.
Walking around in an outdoor mall or outdoor shopping area with a coffee is fantastic. Makes you instantly alpha if you are already a masculine dude who hits the gym and dresses well, the little women and children give you the "ewww" looks and the beta males don't say chit except maybe give a passive fake "cough" - just ignore all of them. They are pretending to be bothered, its all theater and social programming. Break the social programming and don't apologize for it, if you have a strong frame people will sense it.
With that said, I'm not intentionally an a-hole, if someone politely asks me to relocate I say not a problem, and just move elsewhere. It's happened precisely once in 10 years, in the most liberal area of California.

They taste good and are a great way to unwind for an hour or 2.
I’ll smoke one or two a week usually after work when I’m sipping on some scotch or bourbon. I’ll do it when I’m alone so I can zone out or do it socially as something to do while we talk.
Will probably smoke one tomorrow, been wanting to try a rocky Patel vintage 92 I’ve got sitting right now

Good quality cigars are hhhhnnnggg, problem is most people will only ever get to try an average or chitty one and think that it represents all cigars.
