big lump in my kitty's stomach

Picked up my kitty this morning and there's a mass/lump on her right side lower towards the rear of her stomach. Feels like a 2" ball. Local vet isn't open until tomorrow, about a 10 minute drive. Emergency vet is about an hour away, but open right now. That drive concerns me, I took a cat there before and the drive was stressful. She doesn't seem to have much symptoms but has been liking the spot red. Doesn't seem like breast cancer as its on the inside. What do?

Hernia maybe? I know the feel of stressful cat vet trips.

Best I can tell she's eating, drinking, normally. I called around and even the place an hr away open today can't get her in, just one emergency place. Its about the same distance but has 3/5 ratings on google. Been there before and they were ok but the drive was rough on the cat. I'm about ready to go round her up to bring her to the emergency clinic but I dont know if that's the best thing, I'm torn misc.An hour is a hellof a drive for a cat, the last time I had an emergency with a cat she pissed and threw up while meowing the whole time. What could that mass be? I looked up cat physiology but there's so much in that area I dunno

petted her about an hour ago and she seemed very loving. If I didn't feel the lump I wouldn't know anything was wrong. Though I did clean up puke a couple of days ago. No blood or anything weird

Since she's eating and drinking normally I'd say waiting until tomorrow is fine. It's just a day. Emergency vets are ridiculous with their fees. A mass isn't going to get worse in a day. I hope it's nothing serious. My doggo has lots of lumps as he ages. Even though he's been checked by the vet and said they're nothing serious, they still concern me.

She's 13 (and overweight). I don't mind paying the costs, just worried about stressing her too much. She's kind of a scare-dy cat.

ughh this is not good. Read this review, which coincides with what I remember when I last went in 2012. The clinic lady came out saying they had to sedate my cat because she was uncontrollable.
I see reviews saying that the writers surprisingly had to leave BEVS without their cat. I too surprisingly had to leave without my cat and I am utterly dismayed at BEVS's service! They may give more attention to dogs than they do cats. I will never trust them with a cat again. I recommend that you do not bring your cat here if it can be avoided!
My kitty was 13, we brought her in because she was having trouble breathing. First they immediately took her into the back for an exam where we were not allowed to follow. I did not appreciate this! I've always been allowed to stay with my animal! Soon after this, the vet came out (we still can't see our kitty) and diagnoses her with either cancer or heart disease, but she couldn't see anything that could prove it! She gave us some options, but firmly suggested we put her down. We went with the other option of doing a minor surgery to get rid of some fluid build up, which could act as a temporary help to alleviate her heavy breathing, and then the vet would be able to find what the underlying problem was. This is where things went very wrong! We sat in the waiting room (because again we are not allowed to be with our cat), when the sound of loud, startling barking of dogs erupted. Very soon after, the vet came back in and said our cat got spooked and jumped off the table and ran. She said she was turning purple, (lack of oxygen due to extra stress paired with already not being able to breath well), and was drooling (a sign of panic), and the operation was failed. If they were to make a second attempt, they would have to sedate her more and in her condition she would likely not survive... so they said. When wewent into the back to give kitty a goodbye, I saw that their operatory is completely open, meaning, that they were going to operate on my kitty while handling yapping puppies and dogs in the same room. Any cat would have already been spooked in this situation, but they were handling barking dogs in the same area?! Of course the cat will freak. Of course the operation was a failure! I don't believe they know how to handle cats! I find this totally and completely unacceptable.
The vet then said the only thing left to do was put her down. We knew that either way our cat most likely would die soon. The vet gave us lots of deciding time, which was nice, but every time she came back in and we told her that we really wanted to take our cat home she was very insistent that we shouldn't do that and that she should be put down. I felt so coerced! My cat was in MUCH better shape before we brought her into the clinic. I wish more than anything that we wouldn't have brought her in at all and would have just kept her at home giving her peace to do what she needed to do. We just went in to see If there was anyway we could help her, Being in this situation and seeing the bill escalating extravagantly, and nothing being done but making our cat worse, was not the way I wanted her last moments to be. I know we could have insisted on taking her home, but the vet kept repeating very ugly possible scenarios that may have made it harder on our cat, but what our cat had gone through at the clinic was far worse. We were so confused and I still feel awful! I will allow the vet her opinion, but I do not believe she was at all adept at handling cats.
Afterwards my mother and I stepped back into the private waiting room, we burst into tears and a nurse sticks her head in and goes "uh, you know you can leave now right?"...
I will NEVER step foot in BEVS ever again.

Pretty much all cats hate car rides. Just put her in a cage and go, no other way around it

Wait until tomorrow and take her to your usual vet. Actually right now due to COVID, we're not allowed in with our animals here. They come out to the car and get them. Otherwise I've always been in the room with my doggo.

I think I'm going to wait until tomorrow. That story on google reviews about how they operate with other animals being looked at in the room has me concerned. How they told that lady they her cat freaked out is a mirror of what happened to me when I went there in 2012. Cats are terrified of dogs, especially this kitty. She used to go out and hunt but now won't go more than 100 ft from the house. Coyotes got my last cat that I brought to that clinic

Here's the kitty (Muffins is her name). Seems to be in good spirits

here's after some petting

Was breast tumor. They did surgery this morning and removed one large mass and one small one and just got her home. Stumbling around but seems ok. Thank you everyone for your help, I really appreciate it.
