My cardio is this bad

I had to stop 12 times to rest doing a 5 km walk from the gym this morning, an hour walk took nearly 2 hours.

Haven't done any cardio in about a year, including no walking from place to place.

Too be far its still pretty good considering my health problems.

Thoughts?

Not good but in the same boat. Last year I focused on cardio, didn’t lift. Got tired of being scrawny so I got back in the gym but REALLY neglected cardio. My mile went from about 8 minutes to 12 minutes in 9 months. Obviously I was never great at running, but this extra muscle has weighed me down significantly.

Go to the doc and get a stress test done. You may have an underlying heart problem if you are getting that worn out at 36 years old.

I do have heart problems, they were discovered when I was an early teen, they wanted to operate but for reasons I won't state it wasn't done.

Not gonna pry about your existing condition, but at least you're getting it done brah just keep working on it and it'll improve like anything else!
I only know my own ideas of other peoples ideas.

Not good. Cardio’s important brah. IMO you should aim to maintain atleast a sub 9 mile. Perfectly reasonable for a healthy, young (under 60yo) man.
