I think OP is really talking about the upbringing differences between men and women, and how women have more cultural content that promotes individualism, go-getter attitudes, and is catered towards empowerment.

Whereas men have ... what, exactly? A society that informs us that we are the problem.

I think this issue probably begins with education. Around grade 5-8 most boys go through puberty. If my experience was anything to go by, sitting for hours on end in a stool with restless leg syndrome was torture. Nothing registered, and it's all because my body wanted to be active. Grades suffered as a result, and I could imagine a lot of boys being left behind in academics as a result. These boys then go to lesser colleges, or into the trades, or are left behind entirely.

Girls interestingly didn't have similar complaints.

Women demanding the best man they can get is absolutely natural, because women are not evolutionarily adapted to having choice in who they bang. For the majority of history, in every successful civilization, women didn't get to choose who bangs them. Their mate selection is therefore adapted to living in collapsing societies like ours where ruthless alpha males, extremely good looking or talented men, or exceeding wealthy men are the only ones who aren't invisible to them. Beta provider isn't going to be providing too much when the entire structure that gives his life value is destroyed, so they never get with him unless heavily coerced to do so.

The female strategy at this point is to get knocked up with the most valuable genes possible, because our society's inability to coerce women to not be whores and to get with one man each suggests that things are about to get very chaotic.

The 80/20 "rule" is an average. Throughout history it has fluctuated. 80/20 would be very generous to most men compared to other periods where one % of men might get 99% of the women.

Culturally enforced monogamy has propelled civilization forward, but it's done this AGAINST natural forces (slootery).
