Is one piece worth watching ?
started watching it like 5 years ago and stopped at episode 60 i think, it seemed too childish, luffy always taking the big guys, and in the recent episodes i saw that no one dies of the major characters, how is that possible ? brb running 1000 episodes and everyone is fine.

In. I am curious as well.
I too considered it, a lot of folks praise One Piece, it's one of the longest running anime ever. The juvenile flow of the show in the early episodes is what threw me off, coupled with the lack of consequences evident from pretty much every living persistent character in the newer episodes, as mentioned by OP.
On that note, I thoroughly enjoyed Hunter X Hunter despite its juvenile beginning.
Fairly decent fan of Dragon Ball Z's later sagas, even though characters die and come back to life with no consequence.
Need some One Piece watchers / anime experts in this thread.

Love One Peice, but after 500 something episodes, I had to take a break. Really picks up once you get to the Grand Line. If you stopped at 60, you were in a small filler arc and haven't gotten to the best stuff yet.
Though I'd say you'd know if OP is for you or not once you've gone through the Arlong Arc.
The action does ramp us as character s get the usual shonen power ups.
As for deaths, the main cast is alive sure, but side characters do die. Your feels will be hit.

long running shows like DBZ or One Piece are nerd soap operas, not shows. You watch for the characters, not because it ever goes anywhere

Try watching until Water 7 Saga Arc which are Episodes 227–325. They are definitely one of the greatest, most amazing and beautiful episodes I have ever seen in any anime. If you still won't like it then one piece is not for you.

I believe Alabasta is right after Drum Island, which I would just rate as ok. All it really does is introduce Chopper. If you don't mind mild spoilers, I could give you an example of the action ramping up.
There's also one one sided fight in Water 7 that just so happens to be one of the best fights in the series.

My kid and I are like 40 something episodes in and it's a grind. Started One Piece before Dragonball and thought Dragonball would be as much of a grind. I'm really enjoying that chit though.
