I always wondered what you guys do if you find something that looks shady? Do you report it to authorities and or do any forensic work? Or does everything just get thrown out and not reported?

Used to make over 100k as an operator at a landfill, it's not a bad job in the right trade as a garbage man. The smaller ones pay like **** though. No shame in that field at all if you're doing it right.

If you find body parts or bodies, report it. If you find safes try and crush them to open them and take whatever is inside without inspectors or supervisors seeing. If it's drugs being buried, police and media are there watching, so just have fun and smile.

you drive the trucks? the guys around here that drive the trucks and work at the transfer station are all good dudes and seem like they're having fun

our stuff is so automated here, all trucks have those hydraulic arms for standardized trash/recycling/yard waste cans, seems like they just drive around pulling levers and then go back to the transfer station and dump em. pretty good gig minus the stink but i guess you get used to it

If you're a laborer, then you have to deal with that. Otherwise, nope, you don't have to deal with that nasty ****. One time a laborer came to me saying he stabbed himself with a needle he stepped on, I didn't realize it went through his foot from the bottom to the top. I was busy and trying to close the site down so I just told him to call a supervisor to help him and get tested for a possible disease. Guess he waited for an hour for a supervisor to come get him. Oops, lol I guess.

HAHA. Surprisingly, I just tell them I'm a garbageman. Part of the reason I still do it, is because women seem to like us. I was totally surprised that garbagemen actually have groupies. I'm not even joking. Recently a really hott babe gave me a box of Belgium Crepes imported from France. This after she gave me a box of muffins that looked (and tasted) really expensive. When she first gave them to me, all I could reply was: "I like muff..........ins."

Well, firstly: I live in Canada. I'll break 60kCDN this year. But if I worked more OT I could easily break 70k. I should also state for the record: I'm actually a transport truck driver by trade.

I didn't go to the link. However, I'll say this: If you're employed by your city or municipality, you'll probably do a lot better than a company that is brokered out like our's.

Hourly, yes. 45-60hrs/week.

We start at 530am and finish anywhere up until 7pm, depending on the yard waste season.
