Did anyone used to watch Survivor back in the day?

I was watching Pluto TV the other night, and they had Survivor Australia Outback, and I kind of remember watching it when I was like 13 they showed this episode.

Brought back some nostalgia.

That's cool, I stopped watching it years ago....but they have a channel on Pluto TV that shows only Survivor 24/7 which is cool. I would imagine Survivor these days is probably heavily scripted or staged compared to the early days no?

Survivor is probably one of the few show out there that's not scripted at all. I mean sure producer might force some interaction but these ppl on the show are left out there to fend for themselves still. It's more of a controlled social experiment now. They got a formula on how a season goes and it's been pretty much the same place for the last 6-8 seasons.

It's not scripted or staged at all, but the entire season is edited with the ending in mind. If the winner is dislikable or played a terrible game they will edit the entire show to make them look better. I don't watch it anymore because I know getting past the edit is impossible. It's sort of like watching a documentary of a sporting event. Even if they don't tell you who's going to win, it's still not the same as watching it live.
