Guys, my life is fckn weird. (Guardian angel type sht)
My life legit seems to be protected by some black magic sht and I'm not even kidding.
Ill start at the beginning
Age 20: got my first real job which had shtty hours (1 day off a fortnight) and OK pay. - got fired after a week for my noobiness
Got another job: doing 2 weeks on 1 week off, drilling. Hard as fxk job, average pay. Got fired after 3 months because of cut backs.
This leads me to getting an amazing job, I secured a traineeship with a top tier company, working less than a year, making over 100k. I was also dating a girl who was a bit crazy but at the time I lived in a city with not many people in it so shes the kind of girl you'd get stuck with and you'd just coast through life being mildly happy.
Fast forward to the end of the traineeship, there was no full time spot for me, so after 2 and half years they ended my contract. I had saved up over 100k by this time and decided to travel. I broke up with my gf because I knew we wouldn't get back together if I spent the hard part of a break up travelling so I spent 12 weeks going around Europe, America and Asia.
I came back from my holidays, single and unemployed. Had an amazing time, banged a fair few gals and made a heap of friends.
A couple months go by and I get a job at a smelter, which sucks, awful work environment, boring work, dirty etc. Was only about 70k salary, in my home town which I mention is quite small. The job easily had the potential of going full time.
Anyway, im straggling along living this life when I get a phone call on a Thursday, its from my old work (the one I loved) and said they had a casual spot available at their site near Perth (much bigger city) . And that i could start Monday. So now I had the choice of leaving my safe, 70k job in my home city or risk it for a possibly full time job at the company I loved. So I took the job and moved.
4 months go past, and I finally get offered a full time position with the company. So now I have a great job, great work/life balance , an amazing gf that I met in Greece who now lives with me etc etx.
So then there comes a job opportunity, at BP oil. Pays 200k a year. I apply for it and I make the final cut of about 10 people or so. I nailed the interview and testing and was so sure I'd get the job. I get a call a few weeks later saying I didn't get it. Man was I bummed. So I kept on my with my original job, working hard, getting promoted and so on.
Then today I see on the news that the BP oil site is shutting down and 600 people are losing their jobs.
Jesus Christ guys, its like legit everything happens for a reason.
If I didn't get fired then I wouldn't have applied for my traineeship, if I went full time at my traineeship job then I would have probably settled for the gf I had at the time and probably strapped down with a kid by now, I also never would have gotten to travel.
If I stuck with the 70k full time miserable smelter job then I'd be stuck in an absolute trash life, unhappy in both love and work.
If I got the BP job, I'd be unemployed right now with a mortgage and bills to pay.
Cliffs:
Karma isn't real

The human mind is really good at searching for and finding patterns and meaning in life. I've had the same type of feeling many times in life.
"Everything happens for a reason" doesn't work for the millions of people that simply suffer followed by death.

a lot of times chit works itself out
hard to tell yourself that sometimes when you get hit with bad news but when you look back on it in hindsight a lot of times you end up with a better deal.
