buy graphic card or ps5 ?

i don't know whether to buy gtx 1660 super for 200 bucks or wait ps5 ?

i only game on 1080p will probably upgrade to 1440p in the future, my thoughts are that that graphic card will last me like 2 years max but the ps5 will last me 8 years. and i won't buy a better graphic card because i have an old cpu.

I dont even know PC's .... and wtf brah? .... You want to buy a fkkn 1660 super for your pc? good luck playing all next gen games on 720p ..... You might as well buy a PS5 in that case, dont forget, 3-4 years down the line PS5 will have it's eventual PS5 Pro ....... My advice, if you want to really upgrade your rig and have the best possible experience in gaming, then save up and buy a beefy rig. Dont bother half ass upgrading your pc rig ... You're better off with a console in that case, stick with the ps5 and not only do you have access to the best library of exclusives but you'll end up with some super pretty games, which wont ever compare to a high end pc, but it'll still be quite nice.

PC gaming is relatively cheap atm, the new 3 series rtx and ryzen cpus are damn good and relatively cheap.

Lol, i am not a hardware guy but i thought 1660s could run next gen games, it got 6GB of ram, i know that for 500 bucks i can get a decent new PC with ryzen, maybe i should sell mine and buy a new one, The only thing that sucks about PS5 is that i will need to buy the games full price where on the PC you know..

Yeah, you're better off just either buying a PS5 or buying a whole new $1K gaming rig at that point. A graphics card alone isn't really gonna cut it.

PS5 is going to have some great exclusive games, so that's the main reason to buy one.

From what I've read almost all of the new games will run at 60 fps as well.

A PC has more than one use though (streaming/gaming/modifying games/etc) so it might be a good investment, especially if you're into multiplayer that is free lol.

2080Ti here. Just LMFAO @ 1660. If that's the highest you're going to go then just stick with the PS5 boyo. Gonna pick one up myself but PC is most important.

Lower end current gen GPUs aren't out yet. Wait till they start selling NVIDIA RTX 3060 / AMD R6700 XT.

TBH I'm on a 4790k myself and am looking to build a whole new rig. Done with the DDR3, PCI Gen 2, etc. Planning to get a 6800 XT, Zen 3 5900x, 64GB DDR4, 2TB PCI gen 4.0 M.2 nVME SSD, etc. This will cost several thousand, but put me well ahead of what the Series X / PS5 can even hope to do over the next 5+ years.

Price/performance though the $400 PlayStation 5 Digital cannot be beat. Comes with 2080ish / 3070ish performance, along with a controller, and the other internal components you'd have to otherwise buy with a PC (storage device, PSU, CPU, Mobo, Cooling system, Case, RAM, etc.). Then you've got the exclusives to consider too, which might not be on the PC.

Yeah I say unless you've been dying like me to upgrade the old desktop with a complete (and likely way worse price/performance ratio of a PS5/Series X) new build with modern tech and performance, you're better off getting a PS5 until you've had it with your desktop.

depends on what you plan on playing.

i dont play any super fancy 4k full nerd immersion fantasy ****gy **** so im good to go with my 3 year old gpu and 1st gen ryzen cpu. i also dont really give a fuk about playing 95% of playstation games so thats a complete waste of money for me.

only games i like on consoles are racing games and sport games. sport games are gay if youre not playing with friends in the same room and racing games you need a wheel/shifter/pedals set up because its not 1995 to play them with a ****ty controller.

Not a hardcore gamer, one hour per day to relax myself is what i aim. that's why i would like to buy something on the cheap side

I don't see myself spending thousands of dollars on something i won't use that much, i am not someone who will play hours and hours, i would like something to relax, that's why i would like to aim something cheaper, thats why PS5 is best for value you get. thing is you gonna pay 60 bucks for each game you will easily go over a grand in a year.

And to the other brah

I'm a huge fan of racing games, thats why i would like to buy the PS5 only for the gran turismo, nothing beats laying on the couch and enjoying that experience

Nothing wrong with that 1660 brah. Srs. Although for the price, I'd save a big more and get one of the new AMD cards, if they'll be available. It's an absolute chit-show in the hardware market right now for CPUs and GPUs.

Disregard the video card fanatics. People treat graphics cards like they treat sports cars. People in Ferraris are going to laugh at your Miata.

The truth is that the Miata is a lot of fun to drive and costs 1/10 of the cost.

Unless you need/want ZOMG ULTRA settings at 240 frames per second, go with a mid-level video card. You'll likely not find a PS5 in stock for a while anyway.
