Do you have kids OP? Our kids are 9 and 7 and we are still constantly reminding them to say please and thankyou. Sir/Maam isnt really common in this part of the world.

I do mate but hes only 8 weeks old

I was raised the same way. When we were brought to someone's house we were told to sit and be respectful of their home. Always to say please and thank you and yes sir or maam..

I just don't get how some parents neglect this part of their kids upbringing.

Its sickening to me

I wouldn’t say I look down on them. I don’t know why people would not teach the basics of respectful communication though. That is one of the most important things we do on a daily basis. Denying your kid that is a disservice to them.

Yes I do. GOAT parental feel when you take your kid somewhere like a funeral or somewhere they need to be quiet and act right, and all the kids except yours is acting like they're at recess.

Its really not that hard to ensure your kids aren't animals. All you have to do is pay attention to them and correct any misbehaviors when they're really young.

Or you can not pay attention and then just yell at them every hour when they get older and are disturbing your precious phone time.

<---- Raised in the south so its expected of most of us. But there is PLENTY of gutter trash that act like they were raised by retards

but yeah. I sort of do. A lack of strong family-like ethics and whatnot shapes a child for life. They'll grow up to shape their family int he same image. Fatherless homes is what is probably the biggest problem

Yes.

Little kids roam around randomly like monkeys or cats if they aren't taught how to act and they won't even know you're there, like an animal. If you meet kids that were taught how to act they will be interactive, say hello, and act like humans.

It's a big deal.

The biggest scammers in my industry are the ones that constantly say sir. So I'm not going to teach my kids to do that chit.

The rest of the scammers call everyone bro.

It's probably split. The foreigners say sir sir sir sir, sir this, sir everything.

Please and thank you and yes sir and ma'am are the basics. Running around crazy for boys is kind of standard practice, but as long as they are respectful, I am good with them getting some energy out.
People are afraid of hard discipline for their kids. And I get it, it sucks. Real punishment isn't fun for a parent or a child. Its hard to do. But as someone else has mentioned, you're doing them a disservice if you allow them to act a certain way because you're too much of a pu$$y to be a real parent and give consequences for their actions.

I haven't given my kids a spanking for nearly 2 years, but the threat of one is still very real because I actually gave them out in the past.

The parents who allow their children to act like degenerates, are usually degenerates themselves who lack basic manners. So yes.

This.
Also, that would be the majority of parents in Australia.
