By coincidence, I went down a rabbithole on youtube the other night and watched a documentary on this I hadn't seen before, that's worth a watch. It turns out, some of these so-called "uncontacted" tribes aren't. The one in this documentary are descendants of tribesmen who had interacted with civilization a century earlier, been enslaved and treated horribly, and escaped into the jungle. These tribes know about us. They're just very afraid of us.
