I went to mcdonalds recently for the first time in over a year and they charge $2.09 for a mcdouble now. I remember when double cheeseburgers were $1 and they took off that 2nd piece of cheese to make the mcdouble for $1 and everybody got pissed off and on sundays they sold cheeseburgers for 10 cents each. I'd load up on 50 of them and eat them later for the next day or so of meals. Was awesome when I lived in that camper in the woods and didn't have much money. I feel like a boomer now

You're retarded, the guy that owned 18 mcdonalds here in this area out of all his stores the busiest one would do $5,000 in sales on the busiest day and that was just sales not profit. I remember when this lady that was a manager took her deposit and went to mexico instead of dropping off the money at the bank and everybody was saying how stupid she was for doing it on a tuesday and only making off with like $2,000

I may have exaggerated a bit

Average franchise gross profit around $2 million/year. I realize the owners make peanuts compared to what the corporation is funneling out of that and stock options, but they aren’t the ones deciding how much to pay employees

Get a eduction and a better job with skills if you want to get paid more. You can train a monkey to put 2 buns on a burger and wrap it up. They deserve $9 a hour tops and is for college kids to earn a few extra dollars while they study. It’s not a career place.

And why do people care how much owners make? They hire people and give people jobs they can make as much as they can and deserve it

You guys are kinda missing the mark slightly, I went to high school with a guy who's parents owned 3 of the 4 McDonald's in town, The fourth being one in a Wal Mart that I believe was handled by Walmart itself.

I remember him not getting free food but just a discount so he couldn't really flex hard in school with a bunch of free Siht, Probably why he didn't get one actually..

Anyways he is an only child and chose to be a firefighter instead of taking on the family chains..

You need to be a liquid unicumbered cash millionaire for McDonald's to even look at you for a franchise, And you literally own nothing but the equipment inside and the headache. The corporation literally owns everything else.

If I understand how there aggressive franchising works, And I believe I do, It's not what they pay you, It's what you keep after paying them..

They own the building, The land, Literally everything except for the equipment inside the building to pound out the food, Reason being when, not if - when the equipment breaks the franchisee is on the hook for it and not the corporation, It also gives more drive for the franchisee to maintain standards as its there coin on the line.

They base It off a per capita basis and expect a minimum amount of sales per that populous.

You pay them a percentage of the expected sales that capita should attain. Regardless of sales.

So depending how your specific franchise / location does, And after you pay all the employees, And utilities, You could be running at a profit or taking it directly in the ass.

I am not in a position to ask him outright a as I have inherited / took on my families restaraunts, (not fast food) And I wouldn't ask him that as I wouldn't feel comfortable asking as I wouldn't answer that question if asked.

It's a 7 day a week job, Not glamorous and for the most part is stressful. But I love it, I suppose it helps I grew up (literally in the industry).

Do however find it surprising he went off the be a firefighter, Perhaps he just didn't want to be a babysitter, even though there is some coin to be made.
