Guy tore his Pec in front of me today (chills)
Was doing chest today and asked a guy on the double cable machines if I could go next, he’s like nah this guys been waiting. The guy comes over and is like you can work in since we were both doing cable flyers and crossovers. He puts the weight on 30 pounds for a warmup which is cool. Then we go 40, 50, and then 60. I bump the weight up to 70 since I wasn’t getting the stretch I needed. So he goes and he’s obviously having trouble with 70 but manages like a half set. So I bump it up to 80 and I’m having a hard time but still get a good set out of it. So I go to lower the weight and he’s like nah man it’s good you can leave it. He gets up on the 80’s and he gets one rep in and drops the weight. I’m like bro you should really go down a little bit you might get hurt. He got kind of mad and was like nah I’m good, I just need a better grip. Legit resets his body position and goes for another attempt. He like gets to the end of the cable fly, lowers the weight back, and on his next rep immediately drops the weights and grabs his shoulder. He’s wearing a stringer tshirt so you can see everything. He lifts his hand and his pectoral insertion into his shoulder just has this huge divot and lump. I’m like bro you just tore your pec, and then he looks at me on the verge of tears and goes I need to leave. I go to tell him to get ice but this guy immediately ran out of the gym.
Was kind of scary knowing that like at any point during a movement you could tear something like that. Gave me the chills. You guys ever see anyone tear something in front of you? My buddy once saw a dude tear both his quads on a heavy squat.

Those types of fukers are just asking for it tbh.
I saw some 300lbs bloatlord tear his biceps doing a barbell curl the other night. Dude can fuking mog 99% of gym rats with half the weight he used yet he chooses to throw 2 plates aside on an ez-bar and swing the weight like a retard.
Looked more like a power clean than the actual curl JFL.

No sympathy for those low IQ ego lifters. That's not even an exercise you need to go heavy on either.

yeah i tore my labrum.
OP on top of tearing his pec he probably tore a rotator cuff muscle/labrum too.
Chit is no joke. If you go up in weight too fast the inner small joint muscles simply cant cope and you will tear your chit, regardless if your form is perfect or not.
You gotta think about this chit as a marathon not a sprint. If you go up by 30 lbs in dumbbell press in a month, youre likely on the road to tearing your chit. gotta go a lot slower than that

Yup
Tearing tendons sucks hard. It should never happen in the gym tho unless your retard.
I tore my chit lifting the ass end of a side by side out of a rut. Got it out tho.
Dudes in fir at least 6 months of doing nothing with that arm besides PT. Bonus is he will think twice next time.

You know what’s sad he’s right now probably on the phone with a dozen different people figuring out if he has to get surgery. He’s probably thinking at the same time a small decision such as op trying to 1 up him has ruined his physique foe the rest of his life and ruined the next year and what’s worse is imagine he can’t get surgery because of covid. Rip to him. My biggest fear.
