Just in: UK approves use of Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine

Good or bad, we’ll be the first country in the world to have clinically approved a vaccine.

Vaccinations to begin rolling out from next Monday.

I don’t plan to get one personally, unless it somehow becomes mandatory or there are social restrictions without one.

I’m just looking forward to hopefully returning to normal in the near future.

I don’t even get the flu shot brah. I stay healthy by looking after myself and having faith in my own immune system to combat trivial viruses. The people who should get it are old people and the people that have conditions that make them vulnerable, then we can all happily get on with our lives. If those people don’t want to get it either, then it’s on them to take responsibility that their body might not cope with Covid. Simple as that really.

Lol mate don't get me wrong I don't wanna get into an argument about Covid as we all know the mortality rate for young healthy people is low but it's worth acknowledging you can be a healthy young fella and still die to this ****, and the mortality rate for Covid does seem to be several times higher than seasonal flu.

Anyways my point isn't to go on a Covid rant or anything but what I just wonder about peoples reasoning for not taking the jab. Cause I get some people might not believe they need a Covid jab (although I disagree with that and will get it), but I think that with important vaccines like Hep B, Mumps, Polio etc having already saved millions of lifes, it's pretty ****ed more and more "sensible" people are displaying anti-vax tendencies because they think vaccinations can be bad for you. Not saying you're thinking vaccinations are bad or anything, but it's just why I asked in the first place.

Don’t worry, I’m not one of those anti vaxxers, if I truly felt at risk or that I’d get serious symptoms that you may get with those other diseases, then I’d have no qualms about getting it. Just for myself, I feel the risk of getting covid and it’s effects, outweigh getting a vaccine which has had limited testing and unknown side effects.
