Gym now requiring masks full time

Before today you wore a mask when walking in and leaving. Didn't have to wear it while working out. Now today, due to "rising cases" they say members are now required to wear it at all times. Which means I've gotta wear it while running for warmups and during my lifting sessions.

Problem though is my workouts are pretty heavy and I sweat a lot, quite a bit of heavy breathing after my working sets, what do?

recommendations on masks?
I have found my gains again. Thanks Sam Adams

Happened to me and my gym 2-3 weeks ago. It sucks OP. I think the medical masks are better than the reusable ones, not sure about you but my reuseable/washable one is warm and it makes it even more difficult to workout.

Well for starters OP you can stop with the heavy breathing! Just think about all those old people who will never set foot in your gym, your house or your street and may catch the coof off of you.

Shame on you!

That’s why you should have never started wearing it in and out to begin with. I raised hell every time and now there is no rule. Probably wore it in twice in 3 months. My tip to you is don’t wear a mask unless you feel to vulnerable.

My PF doesn't enforce it too bad. I run on the treadmill with it below my chin.

God help the person who decides to say something to me.

Just pull it down. If folks feel that they are at-risk, an indoor gym with 30+ other people is probably not the place they should be at. Can't cater to every single person out there, it's unreasonable.

It sucks but not a huge deal because I'm not an asthmatic ******* or fatass. I just go run outside now

I guess I could just roll with one of them temporary ones and just have it near my chin during my session and toss it afterwards.

I think this whole thing is ridiculous. Makes absolutely no sense. But I'm not gonna "not go" and "stay home" F that shiz. So in order to get admittance I've gotta play along.

If anything this should be the biggest f*cking motivation for BBers to dive in to homeownership and make our OWN gd gym. Multi-use rack and all

The gym that I was going to (pre-plandemic) now requires masks full time. Switched to anytime fitness which doesn't and luckily the base gym "says to" but in practice couldnt give two fuks.

Email from the gym:

"Dear Kroc Center Members,

With the rising number of COVID exposures as well as cases in our community and with the best interest for the safety of our members, guests and employees the Kroc Center will be adjusting operations within the facility for the remainder of December.

Listed below we have detailed the changes that will be taking place:

Day Pass Users

We will not be offering non-member day passes to utilize the Kroc Center, until further notice only members can utilize the facility.

Fitness

Fitness classes – both land and aquatic will be cancelled. This includes Pickleball sessions. The Group Ex Studio were most classes normally take place will again be closed to members.

Increased focus on PPE requirements throughout the center

We are requiring that all individuals using the fitness areas, both upper and lower decks, wear a face covering while exercising, this includes the walking track, free weights, and weight equipment.
If using a cardio machine such as a treadmill, stair climber, rowing machine or elliptical the face covering may be removed once the machine has started and the workout has begun.
Before exiting the machine, face covers will need to go back in place.

Aquatics & Gym

Both areas will be closed through the month of December. The current Saturday morning swim lesson session will continue and conclude on December 19th.

Kidzone & RJ’s Adventure: Closed.

Sunday Services: Will continue via live stream only.

There will be no change in the operating hours for the Fitness Area, The Loft or Kroc Academy.

Look for a communication between Christmas and New Year’s with information on facility updates for January.

We are expecting that the new year will bring new opportunity and hope – and we are working to bring several exciting enhancements and changes to your Kroc Center in the new year.

With your continued support we can fulfill our mission to provide safe and effective ways for individuals in our community to find their potential and thrive. We pray you and your family stay healthy and safe."

His Witness,

Auxiliary Captain John Gantner
Senior Kroc Center Officer
The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center
