Interesting observation at the eye dr

In the waiting room, there's a man and his daughter, maybe 40 years old and 10 years old respectively. He kinds of looks like a blue collar worker maybe, they're just quietly keeping to themselves.

Then comes in a ghetto looking woman and her son, maybe 30 and 10 years old. The mother is watching something on her phone, using the speakers and kind of loud. Me personally I don't have the guts to say anything about it (brb getting stabbed) but after a few minutes the man sternly says "Maam you need to either use headphones or turn that off". She gets super upset and just leaves lol

Was he an ass or was that reasonable? (srs)
