Winning is just getting good at retrying

Winning is just getting good at retrying

successful people fail and make mistakes, but they've got good at starting again after they fail.

If you 'start again' every day after you fail, you'd still be doing it 50% of the time.

And that's probably enough to be pretty damn good
brb haven’t met one vaxcel who doesn’t get defensive or mad when you tell them you didn’t get it.

No “vax” for HIV after 40 years of research. No vax for cancer after 100 years of research. No vax for the common cold and yet a virus mysteriously appears and Within 12 months a “vax” is found by 4 pharma companies all within 1 week and we are mandated to take it ….

I thought this was common knowledge. In the words of the great wise sage Bob Ross:

"if you fail at something but you learn from it, it's not a failure. If you fail at something and learn nothing, then that's a failure."

Also, "we don't make mistakes - only happy accidents."

Counter opinion, for a lot of stuff I do, failing isn't an option.

Today I am sending three boat loads of workers twelve miles out by boat to continue work on a large construction project.

It was ten below last night, and there is two inches of ice they will have to break the whole way out, with zero chance of a quick rescue if things go bad.

If I fail at getting the plan right today, someone could die, something could fuk up and I would be fired or worse.

Thats just one part of my day brah.

At some point you need to keep getting things damn near perfect to "win".

At some point failing doesnt work.

It only works if it builds critical skills by looking for ways to change your approach

If you don’t study for a test and fail it then retry the same test without studying again you’re going to fail it again
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

You likely failed in a safe space enough to fine tune everything so you don’t fail when the boat is launched

Basically you built up the expertise before the responsibility of lives was put on your plate launching the boats

It’s similar to astronauts. They have to launch perfect every time, but you don’t think they fail hundreds of times in simulations prior to the real moment?

I doubt anyone just plopped you in charge of lives without any kind of testing/preparation and expected you to get it right the first time. If they did, that person should be fired.

Yeah look at all the entrepreneurs that made it big

They keep keep trying until they make it, or they launch something and then keep making adjustments until they get positive feedback from the market
