The Vet provides a disconnect between you and your animals association with pain/stress. It's a reason they don't want most people giving shots and treatments to your animal because they will associate it with pain and distrust.

intredasting. I tried to create a positive association with the vet. She's also really good and my dog is generally excited to see her for some petting and cookies and peanut butter spray.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

Depends on the dog. My late dog absolutely hated the vet, my older dog hates the vet, and their son loves the vet. He just loves meeting new people, the attention, and legit the vet could shove her whole hand up his ass and he wouldn't even flinch.

I used to go to a vet where there was a number of female vet techs working there. Women are more overtly affectionate and provide more attention to dogs walking in. I think the higher pitch of the voice also makes the dog's tail go into overdrive wagging. I talk that way to my dog when we're alone in the house. Nobody sees that side of me but her, not even my wife.

Take a dirty wet ball - and throw it into a pool of cold water as it is winter time.

See if he goes into it. Clearly - if he chases it into the water and brings it back he is into suffering.

My dogs do hate the vet. My vet asked me to bring them by to get cookies randomly to disassociate it with pain.

My current little foster thought car rides = going to the vet. So for a while the moment I put her in my car she would start crying.

nah my pup loves the vet. prob more than he loves me. Likely because whenever I take him for anything more than a checkup, they use like 3 girls to hold him still so he's getting mad pets.

Won't let me get close to his nails for a trim, but apparently he's one of the easiest dogs there lmao. Same for anything ear related.

My dog absolutely hates the vet. Made the decision years ago that when I have to put her down we're doing In-Home euthanization. Would never let her last moment on earth be one of fear and anxiety.
