Engineering brahs, help me out real quick

So i have an assignment to do for university. The subject is machine elements.

We basically have to (theoretically) construct anything we want. The only rule is that following manufacturing processeshave tobe applied:

-Sawing
-Drilling
-Tapping (cutting a female screw head)
-Turning
-Milling
-Grinding/Sanding
-Laser cutting or welding

So my idea was to construct a dumbbell bar and its closures, like this

How could the aforementioned manufacturing processes be applied to this example?

I can definitely see sawing, tapping, milling, grinding and laser cutting being used.

But what about drilling and turning?

drilling for the closures which are then tapped to fit the thread of the bar?
turning for the middle section if you wanted it narrower or just to get to a thinner bar from a thicker starting material?

disclaimer: not a mechanical engineering brah
