Overthinking

Anyone else constantly overthinking about every single thing and action in their life?

I'm an extremely rational person, to the point where my rationality subdues my emotions, for better or for worse. I think that's also part of the reason why I am constantly thinking about everything.

How do fellow overthink brahs cope? Will meditation fix this?

YES. Always analyzing things I could have done differently, worrying about medical things etc. "Forget the mistake, remember the lesson." Meditation can definitely help you calm your thoughts. Ultimately, thoughts are just that, they aren't you. Visualize them as external things, floating over you. Don't fight them, allow them to simply be, and watch them pass by.

I don't think I overthink things, but then again maybe I do. I haven't really given it enough thought.

Do more physical things (lifting, martial arts, handy work, ..) it helps you get out of your head. Don't spend too much time alone and in front of a screen

admittedly, i have not been able to go to the gym for a while & i have definitely noticed that it got worse in this period. however, even when i was consistently lifting 6 times a week for months i was a heavy overthinker. i have been overthinking for as long as i have been alive.

Then it’s probably part of you are and will require a lot of work to make progress in decreasing your overthinking. A few things to try:

Lift heavy
Do cardio
Meditate
Minimize screentime(that includes video games)
Read books
Spend time outdoors

Apparently over thinking denotes high IQ.
You're over thinking because you're worried. Once you find out what's worrying you, whether it's fear of failure, risk taking or something else, you will cease this habit.
I used to do this A LOT and lose sleep (literally) over it. Once I started accepting the fact that certaim things are beyond my control, i became more stoic about life and less concerned with so many intricacies. What will be, will be.

I'm a overthinker too but I've realized that being relaxed is key to happiness.
But it happens step by step, I dont believe I am where I want to be yet.

You just have to accept that life is a mix of stuff you control, stuff you don't control and in the end it usually works out OK even if things look like a disaster in the moment.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

Yep, as a perfectionist, I am constantly worrying about how I can do the best possible job in every aspect of my life. Probably, anxiety is the #1 thing that I need to improve.

Not true 100% of the time. I'm usually calm but I get anxious thoughts when I'm studying. I dont even know why.
But yeah, when life is going well for you I guess you ruminate less.

I'm an online salesman and I get legit nervous every time I open up my Amazon Seller account srs. No idea why. Maybe the fear of customer complaint that I can't resolve or my seller status getting revoked or something. feelsbadman. I just learned to live with it

perhaps you could try doing some form of team activity. i overthink as well but it all stops when i am playing a pick up basketball game or plahung warzone

any activity that you do alone is tough to do without gettinf out of your head, even if it is strenuous

Yes, I used to.

However, no one cares in this world why you do what you do, so just start making decisions. Perfection doesn't exist.

Meditation will 100% not help because you're doing it for a specific purpose. High percentage chance you get bored of it because you're not experiencing noticeable effects in a quick amount of time.

OP, are you a manlet?

Ever heard of Napoleon Syndrome? And refer to my sig for a reality check.

You are welcome.

Cheers
"The manlet is a savage beast that knows no moral bound. After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. They are ruthless and you need to spend some more time in the gutter to even begin trying to comprehend what goes on in their minds."
