comp sci degree vs diploma, whats the difference?
Every once in a while I'll see someone with a "diploma" apply to positions work. I can never find the listed curriculum or accreditation. For example, UTEP software engineering MASTERS DIPLOMA.
WTH is that even? COMP SCI already skips half the math of other engineering degrees. I can't imagine a tier under a regular masters.
Trying to be fair, but I don't want to hire people who can't implement algorithms with high level math concepts.

Do you look at their diploma to see what the issuing authority is?
Seems like the most reasonable thing to do.
I think it is generally accepted that a degree and diploma are the same thing. At least that is how I understand it. I think the diploma is just documentation of the degree.
