Making Friends Vs. Retaining Them ~ How do you do?
What is your rate of making friendships vs retaining them?
I’m curious, as I’d guess I make less connections than average but have a very high rate of maintaining meaningful contact with them. Comes with its pros and cons...
In contrast, one of my buddies makes “friends” left, right and center but rarely maintains those friendships in the long term.
To quote MF DOOM, I suppose I’m part of the “team of g men who seem like nerds at first” crew, srs. “Once they get to know us people dig us”.

I rarely make friends but I tend to retain them.

Haven’t made new friends in quite a while.
My main boys have been buddies for a couple of decades now.

Makes sense if you were pigeon-holed into being friends with them, but some of my long term friends are like legitimate brothers; similar outlook, very similar hobbies and personality, etc.
