Anyone ever just stop dating for awhile?

I went from slaying in early college to settling down with a girl for the past 5 years...she’s only been with 1 other guy but I feel us growing apart....I have a lot of peers my age and these chicks have been so corrupted by social media. I honestly cannot see myself dating someone who is active on social media in my age group (mid 20’s). Corona has made it so much worse to the point where social media is their lives considering they can’t go out and get attention whenever they want to and have simps talking up every little thing they post.

If things don’t work out I’m actually considering just staying out of the game for like 5 years and focusing fully on my career/physique/mental health and hoping the next generation of women aren’t such absolute self-fulfilling narcissists. These women are going to be 35 and single “dog moms”

yeah me,
too many girls were coming into and out of my life like a revolving door and I was going through a constant breakup the past 3 years.
So I decided to stop all those things and the last time I been on a date was 6 months ago, enjoy it tbh less stressful and more time for friends and gym.
Ever tried, ever failed..

Oh, I've been on hiatus for quite a while.

I have pretty much lost all interest in that. Some people aren't cut out for that, and dating/being in a relationship mostly feels like a chore.

Was talking to some people who grew up way before us and it wasn’t a chore...now there is the constant onslaught of whatever attention they want to get out of their phones. Constant DM’s, constant thinking they can do better. It’s absolutely fukking ridiculous what social media has done to relationships. I’m feeling it first hand right now

i haven't taken a break from dating in almost 20 years

always tell myself that i will because these gals take more happiness than they give, but i'm an idiot, so i keep reaching into the viper pit hoping i'll pull out a garter snake
